Wasabi

Wasabi is a reimagining of Neil Summerour’s first release, Iru. And like Iru, Wasabi is influenced by the monument lettering style Vermarco. Wasabi retains the simple, geometric forms of Vermarco, but Neil brings it into the 21st century by replacing the original uppercase letters with new interpretations and adding lowercase letters, small caps, and many new weights.

The small caps are particularly interesting. Neil notes, “The height of the small caps is equivalent to the x-height of the lowercase. Mixed with the monolinear nature of the glyphs, you can produce some truly unique combinations for titling and headlines.”
