Samantha is named after Laura’s niece, “who is excited about everything life has to offer. She’s bright, cheerful, and gracious with wisdom beyond her years.” The typeface’s “optimistic style and discipline” echoes the personality of its namesake.
Laura designed Samantha Script with variety, versatility, beauty, and practicality in mind. There are more than 2,700 glyphs, including 1,100 alternate and swash letters, standard and discretionary ligatures, standard, swash, and old-style numerals, 60 ornaments, and 45 catchwords.
