Recherché began with hundreds of sheets of paper, which Laura filled with letters using a pointed brush. The finished typeface is versatile, transitioning from casual to elegant with over 100 alternate swash letters, including a set of formal capital letters. “It’s a very fun font to design with because there are so many options — like 11 different versions of the letter *h* — while remaining a legible script.”
