Felt Tip Roman is the first typeface Mark Simonson released. It’s actually his own handwriting, “carefully digitized by hand (not auto-traced). Handwriting fonts are very common now, but they weren’t in 1989 when I started working on it. I just wanted to see what it would look like, not imagining that other people might want to use it.” In 2003, he added two more weights (bold and heavy) “to create a more versatile set.”
