Al Fresco has a looser, less restrained feel than Hummingbird. To Laura, it’s “sitting outside at twilight under twinkling lights, laughing with friends, sipping cocktails, and eating tapas” typified in a typeface.

After the complexity of Charcuterie, Laura wanted to return to simple tools and play with forms that were clean and refreshing. And although lowercase letters are used more frequently, making the uppercase letters the focal point created an opportunity for variety and eschewed conventionality.

Al Fresco becomes even more versatile when titling is activated. Other OpenType features include swash forms, contextual alternates, and ornaments.
